Day 1

So, after staying up too late to get this blog started as well as reply to emails, I dragged myself from bed to get this learning started! After helping with b-fast, I watched everyone leave for their day either at work or school...and was glad for the respite and quite. I

finally got a shower after my travels and sat down to some time with the Lord... I realized this morning that my brain is working on overload, meaning I'm ready to have already learned lots. I've been running through my head all the things I want to learn while I'm here and what I'd like to be able to do to bless this family. So a little time with the Lord and I was finally able to rest a bit. As I was praying about my busy mind, the Lord reminded me to keep things simple for now...not get stressed trying to do or be too much. He has so faithful to help me exactly when I need it. PTL!!! So, I've now spent my morning familiarizing myself with the house (mostly the kitchen), thinking of something simple but good for dinner, and catching up on communication with you all. I am enjoying a cup of hot coffee right now. It is quite cold here. Reminds me some of my winters in India. The temperature is about 10 degrees Celsius, which is about 50 degrees Ferenheit. Not bad! It doesn't get much colder here they say! No snow here, only rain in the winters...that's a bit sad, but oh well...I can live without snow for a year!

Well, today I have plans to go explore the town. I'm waiting for the girls to get home so that I can take them with me. Figured that if they were with me, I wouldn't get lost as easily. We'll probably stick to this area & neighborhood for now.

So, I included some pictures in this blog...kind of a walk thru of the house beginning at the front entrance & ending in my room... Hope that kind of give you and idea of where I am living now. It is quite a comfortable little place on the 8th floor in the middle of the newer side of town. I am told that many things are within walking distance of only a few minutes. I have every intention of learning where things are today and tomorrow.. Wednesday starts my first day of language lessons, for which I am quite excited! It will be nice to start learning some things and have some guidance in where to start learning this language. I like it when Irene (the Mom) starts talking in fluent Spanish to me when she runs out of English words... I start getting the jist of things, eventually...grin...maybe after a bit of awkward silence, but no big deal...GRIN!
